Tēnā koutou te whānau o Tuapapa,
Another beautiful week with such warm weather. It is lovely for our tamariki to continue to enjoy being outside during breaks and karakia. Our whole school starts each morning with karakia either on the court or in Rooms 5 and 6 if the weather is wet or very cold. I would like to invite you to join us for karakia.
Next week we farewell Mrs. Kathryn Lynsky who has been our school bursar for the past four years. Kathryn has worked hard to ensure good systems are in place around finance and payroll. Whaea Te Rina will be taking over this mahi, and on a Tuesday and Thursday Whaea Ata will support with administration and library.
At hui-a-kura this morning I shared my love of maps, and how I can spend hours planning trips into the hills with maps spread over the floor. I find my starting point, then where I am going to and how I am going to get there. Our learning conferences are like having a map for our learning. We will be sharing where your child is at with their learning now, their learning goals, and share a plan to achieve these goals. Coming to learning conferences shows your tamariki that you value their learning. So with that note just a reminder that kura will finish at 1pm next Thursay the 16th of May with our first parent conference ready to start at 2pm.
Are you interested in developing strategies to support your tamariki with resilience, anxiety, positive behaviour and interactions with others? Nathan Mikaere Wallis is a national expert on brain development and behaviour of young people. He will be sharing a one-day seminar at Central Hawkes Bay College next Wednesday 15th May. We will be sending teachers to parts of the day to further grow their stratgies to best support our tamariki. Whānau are most welcome to attend part or all of this day. There is no cost to this day due to MOE funding. _ Have a lovely weekend. May the sun shine on those of you who are supporting winter sports this weekend
