Tēnā koutou ngā mātua o te kura – Dear Parents

Where do we start, a very full on term with so many changes happening and new things starting.

Our children’s success has been such a beautiful thing to watch.

Thank you to all the parents who have come forward to help out and are supporting our tamariki and teachers.

It has been very busy with speeches, mathletics, cross country, netball prize giving, ngati whai and all the extra things that our children take part in.  Thank you to all our parents who have taken the time to get our children to these events and to our staff for making this happen.  Without the love and support from the community none of this would be possible, so thank you from me to all whānau of Terrace School.

Thank you also to Mrs Waaka who job shared with Mrs Illsely over the past 6 week while Mrs Chant was on leave.  We appreciate all you have done and look forward to seeing you in and around our school relieving.  Welcome back Mrs Chant - it’s wonderful to have you back on board.

We would like to wish Kahleal-Pace Reti,  Koston Mac Donald and Jahmaige Reti - Young luck as they take part in the 2018 Ross Shield starting next week. We can’t wait to be there to watch and support you all.

A huge congratulations to the tamariki who participated in Ngati Whai. What an amazing experience this was for our kura, we are so proud of you.  A big mihi to all our teachers, support staff and parents who helped prepare our children for this day, they looked and sounded absolutely beautiful.

We are excited to announce that the Terrace School has appointed a new principal, Andrew Chesswas, who will start in the New Year. Andrew is currently principal of a school in Hamilton and will be bringing his family down with him to begin his new journey.

Have a happy and safe holiday and we look forward to seeing you all back and refreshed for Term 4.

Ngā mihi,

Charlie Verrell

Acting Principal
